Cookie Policy
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to site owners. Monitor uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and session storage) to operate the platform, remember your preferences, and understand how you use our service.
Types of Cookies We Use
1. Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. Without them, core features like logging in, staying authenticated, and navigating between pages would not work. You cannot opt out of essential cookies while using Monitor.
Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Maintains your authenticated session | Session |
| Protects against cross-site request forgery | Session |
| Keeps you logged in between visits | 30 days |
2. Analytics Cookies
We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with Monitor — which pages are visited most, where users drop off, and how features are used. This data is aggregated and anonymized; it does not identify you personally. We currently use Plausible Analytics, which is a privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant analytics tool that does not use cookies by default but may store minimal session data.
Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous usage analytics | Session |
You can opt out of analytics tracking by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser or by emailing us at privacy@monitor.io.
3. Functional Cookies
Functional cookies remember your preferences and settings to provide a more personalized experience. For example, remembering your preferred date range on the dashboard or your last selected view.
Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Stores dashboard layout and display preferences | 1 year |
| Remembers your last selected domain | 90 days |
4. Marketing Cookies
If you arrived at Monitor via a paid advertisement or referral campaign, we may set a cookie to attribute your visit to the correct campaign. This helps us understand which marketing channels are effective. These cookies do not track you across third-party websites.
Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Records traffic source for attribution | 30 days |
| Tracks referral partner attribution | 30 days |
You can opt out of marketing cookies at any time using the controls described below.
Third-Party Cookies
We use the following third-party services that may set their own cookies:
Stripe — Our payment processor uses cookies to prevent fraud during checkout. These are essential and cannot be disabled during a purchase flow. See Stripe's Cookie Policy.
Intercom (if enabled) — Our customer support widget may set cookies to identify returning visitors and maintain chat history.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising network cookies.
How to Control Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:
Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their settings menu. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using Monitor.
Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions
Opt-out by email: Email us at privacy@monitor.io to request that analytics or marketing cookies be disabled for your account.
Do Not Track: Monitor respects the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal. If DNT is enabled in your browser, we will not set analytics or marketing cookies.
Cookie Consent
When you first visit Monitor, you will be shown a cookie banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your preference is saved for 12 months. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies or contacting us.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or applicable regulations. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice.
